Separator:​

  • Right-click the empty space in the left pane of MO2 and select Create separator.
  • Name the separator Gameplay.

Gameplay Enhancements​

Tweaks for TTW Vanilla +​

A collection of miscellaneous tweaks for TTW to enhance the gameplay experience.

Installation:​

SSS - Sweets Simple Settings Hardcore​

Changes some gamesettings, like base/mults for carry weight, crippled limb penalties, karma changes, skill's effects on weapon damage, AP, damage threshold passthrough, health, tag skills, vats, and dismemberment to enhance difficulty.

caution

This will change skill tagging to a classic Fallout format, in which tagged perks will NO LONGER receive a flat point bonus. INSTEAD, increasing tagged skills will cause them to increase by 2 skill points, rather than the normal 1 skill point. DO NOT open support requests pertaining to this.

Hardcore Perk Every Level Vanilla +​

Changes TTW's Hardcore mode to grant a perk every level, instead of every two.

Better Caravan Vanilla +​

Improves the usability of the Caravan minigame.

TTW Merchant Supply Expansion Vanilla +​

Gives TTW vendors better selections.

Tale of Bi Wastelands Vanilla +​

Adds Confirmed Bachelor and Cherchez La Femme options for the canonically gay and lesbian merchants to mirror any Black Widow and Lady Killer options in Fallout 3 and its DLC.

Installation:​

Charisma Tweaks (NVSE) Vanilla +​

This mod makes it so that your Charisma and the Intellence of the person you're speaking to impacts barter and speech checks.

caution

Many skill checks, including speech checks, will display DIFFERENT skill values than your actual skill, because charisma is now imparting a multiplier on the skill check. DO NOT open support requests pertaining to this.

Installation:​

    • Enables recommended settings while disabling Charisma Affects Reputation in favor of EDGEs implementation of the same.

Better Damage Multipliers Vanilla +​

Improved damage multipliers for the game's difficulty settings. In the base game, the approach to difficulty balance involved making enemies bullet sponges. This mod removes that approach.

Delay DLC Redux TTW Vanilla +​

Prevents the game's DLC from spamming the new game startup messages and requires you be near a given DLC's starting location to receive its quest.

TTW Quick Start Vanilla +​

Quick start plugin to skip the Vault 101 intro sequence and start in the cave just outside the vault.

HIGHLY recommended for balance, though inappropriate for those playing the base games for the first time.

READ THE DESCRIPTION for details on the new location of the Medicine Bobblehead.

Instructions:

To travel to the Mojave Wasteland, select "memory" when prompted "Is this now, or just a memory" immediately after leaving the vault.

(Benny Humbles You) and Steals Your Stuff Vanilla +​

Resets the player's level and skills, as well as removes gear upon travelling from the Capital Wasteland to the Mojave for the first time. Players get to keep their perks during this transition and eventually recover their items.

  • After installing the main file, double-click the mod, go to INI Files, and customize the INI settings to your preferences.

Just Assorted Mods Vanilla +​

JAM is a compilation of interface and gameplay-enhancing mods in one package, configurable in MCM. Features a FO4-style Loot Menu, Bullet Time, and much more.

Installation:​

Instructions:

IF YOU USE THIS MOD YOU MUST DISABLE KILLCAMS, otherwise you will encounter a timescale bug when exiting Bullet Time after a killcam is activated. This is DONE BY DEFAULT if using the Stewies Tweaks - Custom INI from earlier in the guide.

  • To apply the JAM - Custom INI settings:

    • Press M from the pause menu to access the MCM.

    • Navigate to Just Mods.

    • Enable "Automatic INI Management" then restart your game.

    • If VATS is preferred over Bullet Time, disable the Bullet Time subsection, though the use of Bullet Time is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the integrity of balance.

    • If the Sprint subsection is now disabled, STOP HERE.

    • If Sprint is still enabled, open each subsection individually and select "Load from INI."

    • The subsections include Crosshair, Hit Marker, Hit Indicator, Objectives, Loot Hweel, Sprint, Hold Breath, and Bullet Time.

Consider DISABLING the VATS hotkey in controls and using Bullet Time exclusively for a more hardcore experience.

JIP CC&C Vanilla +​

Revolutionizes the way companions are controlled and interacted with.

Main Files:

Stash Organizer Vanilla +​

Automatically organizes your items in any interior cell. Can be tricky to set up initially, though pays dividends in item organization later in the game.

Installation:​

  • Press the VATS hotkey while looking at a container to access the Stash Organizer menu.

Purchase Items on Display (xNVSE) Vanilla +​

Allows you to purchase items that are on display in a shop without having to go through the barter menu with a merchant.

Bottle The Water Vanilla +​

Adds the option to bottle water from any source when you hold Shift and activate the source, assuming you have an empty bottle.

Immersive Minigames Vanilla +​

Real-time, character-skill based replacement for hacking and lockpicking. Refer to the MCM settings to learn how to use this.

Installation:​

  • Main File - Immersive Minigames
Instructions:
  • Press M from the pause menu to access the MCM.
  • Navigate to Immersive Minigames.
  • DISABLE "Activate after Unlock."
  • To use, hold E while looking at a locked container. This key can be remapped in the MCM.

Forced Entry Vanilla +​

Allows the player to bypass locks on containers and doors by simply attacking them.

This mod serves as a good option for using excess ammo.

Supplemental Ammo Crafting Vanilla +​

Adds crafting and breakdown recipes for all ballistic ammo types that lacked said recipes in the base game.

Movement & Travel​

Transportalponder EX Vanilla +​

Upgrades the vanilla Big MT Transportalponder! received at the conclusion of Old World Blues into a configurable teleportation device.

Transporters Vanilla +​

A fast-travel overhaul implementing an alternative system using molerats and moleholes. Adds a new faction, settlement, and quest as well.

An implementation of combat sprinting for melee NPCs.

Enhanced Movement Vanilla +​

An all-in-one movement overhaul and expansion featuring movement bug fixes, 1st person diagonal movement, enhanced sprint, enhanced sneak, enhanced leaning, animated prone framework, new animations, and more.

  • To apply the Custom INI settings:
    • Press M from the pause menu to access the MCM.
    • Navigate to Enhanced Movement.
    • Enable "Use INI."

IF YOU USE THIS MOD YOU MUST REMAP the Always Run key in controls, then REBIND the sprint key in the Enhanced Movement MCM.

Sweet Perk Overhaul Vanilla +​

This is a complete rebalance and overhaul of many base game perks.

Sweet 6 Shooter Perks Vanilla +​

The Sweet 6 Shooter perk pack adds many new perks and traits to the game, with a heavy focus on proper balance, role-playing, and promoting build variety.

Friends With Benefits Perk Pack Vanilla +​

A set of perks that grant bonuses once idolized by various factions.

Only install A Very Uncreative Faction Disguise Remover if NOT installing STARS later in the guide. The Friends With Benefits Perk Pack requires a faction disguise removal function, which can be accomplished with EITHER of these options.

Tree New Perks Vanilla +​

Adds new unique perks for the various endings to the Oasis questline.

Levelup Traits Vanilla +​

Grants the option to pick a new trait per a variable amount of levelups. This is useful alongside many of the perk packs included in the guide (particularly Vegas Elysium), which add many new traits.

Vegas Elysium Perk Pack Vanilla +​

DISTURBING CONTENT

Read the TRIGGER caution prior to installing, as this mod contains difficult psychological topics. Procceed with caution!

A perk and trait pack inspired by Disco Elysium. Includes a thought cabinet and a new flaw system.

  • Main File - TTW Quick Start
    • Required because the Vegas Elysium Perk Pack requires SPECIAL based trait selection. This should already be installed if following the guide.
